Dr.Yates was my Mums doctor who recently died at home with Bowel Cancer. The love and Care Mum received from Dr Yates and Belinda the care Navigator was beyond anything we could have hoped for. Belinda was there for us all emotionally and day and night towards the end. We can not thank her enough as she was at the end of the phone or at mums as soon as we needed her. Us 4 children cared for mum ourselves day and night and with Belindas support and wisdom we were able to continue the care until she passed. Dr. Yates was so wonderful and mum loved her, Dr Yates visited mum alot and gave mum a boost everytime she came. Thank you so much to both Dr Yates and Belinda and the community nurses too who were wonderful. You are all angels.
I have to praise Hedge End Medical Ctr. Last week I was feeling unwell, I called Thursday morning & was offered an appointment that same day! I also forgot to ask for my repeat prescription whilst I was there & realised on Friday afternoon that I had totally run out, I called to explain & the helpful member of staff ensured the duty doctor signed the prescription so I didn't have to go over the weekend without my medication. I hear so many stories about other Doctors surgeries & of patients having to wait weeks for an appointment or being told to call back when more appointments are released. I know all surgeries are under extreme pressure with so many more house's going up in Hedge End & no new medical centres to be built, but well done Hedge End Medical Centre .
Trying to book an appointment for my son as struggling for breath was offered 5th June!!!! I thought legally if a appointment requested for a child they had to offer one same day ??was told by receptionist to go to a&e. You can see why hospitals are too busy if this is the advice that is being given.
The people in this surgery are very helpful and always try to accomodate. There is a doctor available next day. Only wait time is if you want to see a particular doctor, and they offer an emergency phone consultation. And the reception people are friendly and helpful
Their electronic triage system works amazing. Always got the call back from the GP the same day. Both my wife and I are very thankful to be with this GP surgery.
